Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about ComplyPost.

What is ComplyPost?

ComplyPost is a registered office mail automation platform built for UK accountancy and legal firms. It lets you bulk scan client mail, and uses AI to automatically split, classify, and deliver each letter to the correct client.

How does the automatic classification work?

When you upload a scanned PDF, ComplyPost reads the text from every page, then uses intelligent classification to identify the sender (HMRC, Companies House, banks, solicitors, etc.), detect urgency levels, extract deadlines, and match each letter to the correct client — all automatically.

What file formats are supported?

ComplyPost accepts PDF files. Most scanners can output to PDF directly. The maximum file size is 100MB per upload.

Is my data stored in the UK?

Yes. ComplyPost is built with full UK data residency. All data is processed and stored on UK-based servers. We are fully GDPR compliant.

What plans are available?

ComplyPost offers a Free plan (100 pages/month, 10 clients, 1 user), a Starter plan (£31.99/mo — 500 pages, 3 users, client portal), and a Pro plan (£74.99/mo — 1,000 pages, 15 users, AI search, webhooks, API access, custom domains, and priority support). Enterprise plans are also available for larger firms.

Can I try ComplyPost for free?

Yes! The free plan includes 100 pages per month, 10 clients, and 1 user. No credit card is required. You can upgrade to Starter or Pro at any time.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Go to Billing in the sidebar and click 'Upgrade to Pro'. You can choose between monthly and yearly billing. Pro includes a trial period so you can try all features before being charged.

Can my clients access their letters directly?

Yes. ComplyPost includes a Client Portal feature where clients can log in to view and download their correspondence. You can enable this per client and customise the portal branding.

What happens when I reach my page limit?

On the free plan, you'll be notified when approaching your limit. Once you reach 100 pages in a month, you'll need to upgrade to Starter or Pro to continue processing. Paid plans include overage at £0.10/page (Starter) or £0.06/page (Pro). Usage resets at the start of each billing cycle.

How do webhooks work?

Webhooks send real-time HTTP POST notifications to your specified URL when events occur (e.g., letter received, classified, delivered). They're available on Pro and Enterprise plans. You can configure which events trigger webhooks from Settings.

Is there an API?

Yes, ComplyPost provides a full REST API for programmatic access. The complete API documentation is at docs.complypost.co.uk.

How do I delete data for GDPR compliance?

ComplyPost includes built-in GDPR tools. Navigate to the GDPR section in the sidebar to process data deletion requests, export client data, or manage retention policies.

Can I invite team members?

Yes. Go to Team in the sidebar to invite team members. You can assign roles (Owner, Admin, Operator, Viewer) to control access levels. The number of users depends on your plan.

How do I set up a custom email domain?

Go to Settings → Email Domain Setup and follow the instructions to add SPF, DKIM, and DMARC DNS records. Once verified, delivery emails will come from your custom domain.

What browsers are supported?

ComplyPost works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.
